The exhibition, Antoine Watteau and the French Art of Engraving, will feature works by French painter, engraver and drawer Jean-Antoine Watteau.

The exhibition will be opened by Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, Culture Minister Šarūnas Birutis, and Louvre Museum President Jean-Luc Martinez who is coming to Vilnius for the event.

Among pieces to be exhibited in Vilnius, there will be over 90 engravings made after Watteau's drawings and paintings, with the majority of the engravings selected from nearly 40,000 pieces of graphics donated by Baron Edmond de Rothschild to the Louvre in 1935.

The exhibition will also feature Watteau's drawings and a canvas Diana At Her Bath (circa 1715-1716) done in the technique of aux trois crayons.

The exhibition is a project of the Lithuanian presidency over the European Union (EU) Council.
