Lithuanian Labor Party leader Viktor Uspaskich to give up MEP mandate

The Labour Party's leader Viktor Uspaskich, who was elected to Lithuania's Seimas, has decided to give up his mandate as a member of the European Parliament in order to be sworn in as a member of the Lithuanian Seimas.

Uspaskich submitted the plea to drop his mandate to the Lithuanian Central Electoral Commission during it's meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

Uspaskich was elected to the European Parliament in 2009.
