According to the president, the country's government has not exhausted all measures yet to respond to Russia's actions against Lithuania.
"I authorized the government earlier to take all possible measures for the normalization of the situation with Russia. They have not been exhausted yet. We need to prepare for turning to the World Trade Organization over the Russian trade disruptions with regard to Lithuania," Grybauskaitė said on Monday.
Her position was communicated to BNS by her spokeswoman Daiva Ulbinaitė.
According to the head of state, "this situation is the first serious challenge to the government working for almost a year."
Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius said he did not give too much prominence to the reports from Russia about potential restrictions on imports of Lithuanian products.
“Everyone is free to write, what is most important for us is to read all of that calmly and to continue working and exporting dairy products and meat, and live animals,” he told reporters on Monday.
