B.Davieso indėlis į „Team Fredette“ pergalę

2018-07-30 07:31
After watching sluggish starts over each of his team’s first three games, Team Fredette coach Mike Taylor wanted a quicker start from his team in its Regional Championship matchup against Scarlet & Gray. Mission accomplished. Team Fredette jumped out to an 11-point halftime lead and didn’t let up in the second half in a 100-78 victory. “We had to utilize our speed, and that’s what we tried to do from the jump,” said forward Brandon Davies. “We try to make it a point to get going from the jump and maintain that the whole game.” Jimmer Fredette, TBT’s leading scorer this summer, went 10-for-17 from the field and finished with a game-high 28 points for Team Fredette, which shot 57%. Ra’Shad James (16 points), Jack Cooley (16 points), Davies (15 points) and Jordon Crawford (13 points) all reached double figures for the winners. David Lighty had 16 points to lead the way for Scarlet & Gray, which shot just 27% from three-point range. TBT features 72 teams of top professional, college alumni, and international basketball players competing in a single-elimination 5-on-5 tournament for a winner-take-all $2 Million prize. All 72 games will air on ESPN networks beginning Friday, June 29, culminating with the championship game on Friday, August 3 live at 9:00 pm ET on ESPN. Regional competitions will be hosted in Richmond (July 13-15), Los Angeles (July 13-15), Brooklyn (July 20-22) and Columbus (July 20-22), with the semifinals and championship game in Baltimore (August 2-3). The highly-competitive tournament has attracted some of the best basketball players in the world. In 2017, Overseas Elite won for the third year in a row. Teams compete for spots in the tournament by soliciting votes from fans and supporters via social media. Applicants must be 18 or older and willing to forego their amateur status.
