Saulius Urbonas, the CEO of Ipsun, the main shareholder of Fresh Market, has confirmed that talks with Lithuanian suppliers are underway as part of preparations for store openings. However, the company does not comment on its specific plans and objectives for now, the paper says.

Initial plans call for opening around ten stores in the residential neighborhoods of Vilnius and Kaunas. It has been mentioned to suppliers that Fresh Market has already acquired a logistics warehouse.

According to data from the Center of Registers, Cyprus-registered Ipsun Holding is the sole shareholder of Ipsun, an importer of fruits, vegetables and oils. It is said that investments are coming from Belarus and that the investors are related to the shareholders of Euroopt, Belarus' largest retail chain with 131 stores.
