Britain's Home Retail Group looking for suppliers in Lithuania

Home Retail Group, the UK’s leading home and general merchandise retailer, is looking for suppliers of goods, ranging from plastic boxes to furniture, in Lithuania, the Verslo Žinios business daily reports.

Enterprise Lithuania will help Home Retail Group choose the suppliers. In particular, the government’s export promotion agency will select applications of Lithuania’s manufacturers that match the request of the retailer and will assess the companies’ reputation on the market. Then the potential customer will choose the manufacturers it is interested in and will hold meetings with their representatives.

“A filter is necessary so as not to overwhelm the potential customer with unqualified offers. It’s like a beauty contest where we have to compete with Poland, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, and other countries. Therefore it is very important to ensure that the information is precise and accurate – we will assume responsibility for that,” Andrius Nikitinas, Lithuania’s commercial attaché to Britain and Ireland, told the daily.
