“With the lockdown declared, forestry companies faced a problem – the number of timber processing companies decreased by a large extent. A part of them completely halted purchases, some significantly cut prices, others began to fall behind in their payments. We had a discussion and decided to create an opportunity to realise timber during this difficult period,” Tadas Palaima, the director of Miško Aukcionas says.

The timber market will allow sales of timber with just one click to any chosen customer. After selecting the timber’s location, the platform will present the best offers for timber sales, including prices and specifications. It will no longer be necessary to sign separate contracts with various buyers, call the buyer and engage in price negotiations and seek transportation. Also, the seller will be able to select payment over three working days and receive funds their business needs.
