Estonian Finance Minister Jurgen Ligi: euro brings only advantages, negative aspects are emotional

The euro brings only advantages to a country, while negative aspects are mostly emotional, Estonian Finance Minister Jurgen Ligi said in Vilnius on Thursday, calling on Lithuania to join the single currency.

„I'm very glad that Lithuania has expressed its determination. I can say that there are only pros. This is the right decision,“ he said during a joint news conference.

„The negative aspect of joining the euro is almost entirely emotional,“ Ligi said.

The Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian finance ministers discussed euro entry and Lithuania's upcoming EU presidency in Vilnius on Thursday.
