Fewer cruise ships dock in Klaipėda

This year’s cruise season in the Lithuanian port of Klaipėda was closed earlier than planned, yet in general it met expectations of tourism business, the Lietuvos Žinios daily reports.

The number of cruise ship arrivals declined by 3 from 2012, to 40, but the total number of cruise passengers soared by 23 percent to more than 33,000.

This year’s season was closed with the arrival of the Delphin, which called on Wednesday.

The liner Seven Seas Voyager was expected to arrive to the port on September 26 but the plans were called off.
