The quantity of chipped forest residues to be supplied to the plant is preliminary.

It is also planned that the plant, when launched, will export ash through the port of Klaipėda to Norway.

Vakarų Krova, a local stevedoring company owned by Estonia's BLRT Grupp, has invested in equipment and will transport ash from the plant in closed tanks. A contract has been signed with a Norwegian company for the disposal of ash.

Fortum Klaipėda Director Juozas Doniela said that the plant will generate around 5,000 to 6,000 tons of ash annually.
