PPS Pipeline Systems won the tender with a bid of 94.84 million litas (EUR 27.5m), excluding VAT, or 114.756 million litas, including VAT, according to Klaipėdos Nafta (Klaipėda Oil), the developer of the LNG facility project.

The winner of the tender, which was issued repeatedly in February, was announced shortly after the Court of Appeals gave the go-ahead to resume tendering procedures.

Klaipėdos Nafta invited PPS Pipeline Systems to sign a contract after the expiry of a 15-day appeal period. The contract, which will be the last contract related with the construction of the LNG facility, will come into effect once approved by the board and the shareholders.

Klaipėdos Nafta CEO, Rokas Masiulis, told BNS that the contractors should have enough time to complete the project by the deadline of August 1, 2014, as specified in the tender documentation.

A consortium of Kauno Dujotiekio Statyba (Kaunas Pipeline Construction) and Šiaulių Dujotiekio Statyba (Šiauliai Pipeline Construction) came second in the tender with a bid of 113.481 million litas (or LTL 137.312m including VAT).
