Algimantas Kondrusevičius, president of Linava, Lithuania’s national road carriers’ association, is still unsure whether the checks on Lithuanian haulers at Russian customs checkpoints have got back to normal.

“It’s difficult to say since the information we get from haulers is rather fragmented. We are waiting for today, tomorrow… Mondays and Tuesdays are practically the key delivery days from Lithuania. Then the situation will be absolutely clear and we will be able to make certain conclusions,” he said in an interview to Žinių Radijas on Monday morning.

However, he would not say whether the volume of Lithuania’s trade with Russia might decrease as a result of the measures applied against the haulers.

“I think it may decrease due to other reasons, such as alarming economic situation in Russia itself. That decrease would be the consequence of Russia’s stalling economy…,” Kondrusevičius said.
