A decision on such a tax is to be made by mid-summer, according to the paper.

"We are at an intermediate stop and we want to present our proposals and ask if we are moving in the right direction," the paper quoted Stasys Jakeliūnas, the prime minister's adviser and the head of the Tax Reform Working Group, as saying.

Decisions on car and real estate taxes are expected to be made by June 30, during the second stage of the group's work.
