Business representatives believe that a month left until Lithuania’s EU Council presidency will be enough for installing at least minimum cyber security tools.
Arvydas Žvirblis, the head of technical department at Santa Monica Networks, the provider of data transmission and IT security solutions, believes that the minimum protection could cost around 4 million litas.
“One of Internet service providers could install security tools for 4 million litas. Of course, these tools will not provide 100-percent security against attacks and threats, no-one could do that, but it will be enough to fill in certain gaps.”
Meanwhile, Darius Didžgalvis, the head of the Network Technologies Service at Teo LT, the telecommunications company, believes that Lithuania as a whole could be protected against attacks for 20 million litas.
“Such a solution would let install equipment that would make it possible to monitor Internet flow all across Lithuania and to block the inquiries where necessary.”
