Lithuania was number 36 in the previous year’s rankings.

Estonia ranks 36th in this year’s World Competitiveness Scoreboard, and Latvia is 41st, Enterprise Lithuania, the government’s export promotion agency, said in a press release.

The IMD's world competitiveness report, published since 1989, measures countries based on over 300 criteria, which reflect their economic performance, government and business efficiency, and infrastructure.

Lithuania this year ranks 26th among 60 economies around the world in terms of business performance (up from 36th place last year), 43rd in terms of economic performance (up 3 notches), 34th in terms of government efficiency (up 3 notches), and 31st in terms of infrastructure (unchanged).

Top three this year are the US, which has regained the No 1 spot, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.
