Hanner, which invested 128 million litas in the complex last year, expects to complete the second stage of the project by the end of this year and to start operating the warehouses in 2014, the company said in a press release.
"There has been increasing demand for production and storage facilities in the market recently. We were the first company to launch the construction of logistics facilities after the economic crisis," said Arvydas Avulis, the company's owner and chairman.
Hanner has said that it is also planning a third stage of warehouse construction, which will bring the total area of storage facilities built in the Russian city by the company to 105,000 square meters.
Hanner, which has operations in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Romania, last year posted revenues of 76.1 million litas, down 21 percent compared with 2011.
