Lithuania's January-February national budget revenues at EUR 948 mln

Lithuania's national budget revenues for the first two months of this year totaled 3.271 billion litas (EUR 948 mln), which was 2.8 million litas, or 0.1 percent, below the 3.274-billion-litas target.

The national budget includes both the central government and local governments.

The central government collected 2.767 billion litas in revenues in January through February, missing its 2.789-billion-litas revenue target for the two months by 22 million litas, or 0.8 percent.

The value-added tax, the largest single source of budget revenues, brought 1.712 billion litas into the state's coffers, 74.4 million litas less than planned for the period. Excise tax revenues came in 4.9 million litas below the target at 486.5 million litas.

Revenues from the corporate profit tax, at 27.8 million litas, were 17.5 million litas higher than projected.

The personal income tax generated 552.2 million litas in national budget revenues, 4.3 million litas more than planned.

This year's central government budget projects 18.15 billion litas in annual revenues, not including EU funds and other aid, with expenditures planned at 18.89 billion litas.
