Lithuanian Energy proposes 1.2 euro cent dividend

Lithuania's state-owned electricity production group Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy), which posted a net profit of 33.463 million litas (EUR 9.7m) for 2012, proposes to pay out 25.403 million litas as dividends to shareholders, or 4 Lithuanian centas per share.

Lietuvos Energija's management board will submit the dividend proposal during the shareholders meeting scheduled for April 30, the company has said in a statement published on the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius website.

The shareholders will be asked to distribute a total of 29.428 million litas in profits.

Lietuvos Energija last paid dividends in 2011, when it paid out 86.823 million litas to its shareholders.

Lietuvos Energija group last year saw its net profit soar 24.7 times, to 37.647 million litas, from 1.526 million litas in 2011. The net profit of the parent company alone trebled, to 33.463 million litas, from 10.756 million litas a year before.

State-owned Visagino Atominė Elektrinė (Visaginas Nuclear Power Plant) owns 96.13 percent of shares in Lietuvos Energija, which is quoted on the blue-chip Main List of the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius Stock Exchange.
