The deal was signed on June 26, data from the Central Public Procurement Portal has shown.

The consortium of two banks, which includes the Lithuanian branch of Nordea Bank Finland and DNB, offered the lowest margin, of 2.39 percent, in a respective tender.

The final bid by the consortium of Swedbank and SEB Bankas, which offered a margin of 2.8 percent, was rejected as non-compliant with the tender requirements. The Lithuanian branch of Danske Bank decided not to submit the final bid at its own initiative.

Lietuvos Energija plans to use the loan to finance the construction of biofuel and steam boilers at the Lithuanian Power Plant in Elektrėnai. The boilers will be built by a consortium made up of Kauno Energetikos Remontas, a subsidiary of Lietuvos Energija, and Estonia’s Filter and Vapor in a project worth 104.652 million litas, including VAT.

State-controlled Visagino Atominė Elektrinė (Visaginas Nuclear Power Plant) owns 96.13 percent of shares in Lietuvos Energija.
