Orlen Lietuva - Lithuania's biggest taxpayer

Lithuania’s oil concern Orlen Lietuva paid the biggest amount of taxes to the government budget last year, followed by tobacco manufacturer Philip Morris Baltic, data from the State Tax Inspectorate has shown.

Orlen Lietuva last year paid 1.338 billion litas (EUR 387.83m) in taxes and other payments, and Philip Morris Baltic paid 525.981 million litas.

Mineraliniai Vandenys, the spirits importer and trader, was third with 470.491 million litas in taxes paid last year, followed by Lietuvos Dujos (Lithuanian Gas), the natural gas importer and trader, in the fourth place with 397.967 million litas, and by Statoil Fuel & Retail Lietuva, the petroleum products retailer, in the fifth place with 386.44 million litas.

The list of Lithuania’s five biggest taxpaying companies last year remained unchanged from 2011 while the total amount of their tax payments increased by 5.4 percent to 3.119 billion litas.

Taxes paid by Orlen Lietuva last year rose by 4.6 percent from 2011, the amount paid by Philip Morris Baltic, by 4.1 percent, the sum paid by Mineraliniai Vandenys, by 11.7 percent, and the amount paid by Statoil Fuel & Retail Lietuvos, by 13.1 percent.

However, taxes paid by Lietuvos Dujos declined by 3.4 percent versus 2011.
