Orlen Lietuva reduces output by 40 percent due to maintenance

Orlen Lietuva, Lithuania’s crude oil refinery controlled by Poland’s biggest oil concern PKN Orlen, launched maintenance in April and trimmed its output by 40 percent.

“Late in April, Orlen Lietuva launched scheduled maintenance of the refinery, which involves cleaning and upgrading of installations. Production volumes have been reduced by 40 percent during maintenance. However, fuel is supplied to Lithuania and other domestic markets as usual,” Audrius Stasiulaitis, public relations director at Orlen Lietuva, told BNS.

Maintenance should be completed on May 20, he added.

Exports of Orlen Lietuva through the port of Klaipėda have decreased as a result of maintenance works. Klaipėdos Nafta (Klaipėda Oil), the petroleum product terminal operator, earlier said that this led to a decrease in its reloadings in April.
