The June 10 decision by the director of the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) to cancel the license issued back in 2005 was published in the legislative database of the Lithuanian parliament (Seimas).
“The licensing commission has proposed to cancel the carrier’s license, which is exactly what has been done,” Kęstutis Auryla, the director of CAA, told BNS.
Aurela had its permanent operating license suspended in early January 2011 and issued with a temporary one. The CAA renewed the license after Servolian Investments purchased the carrier in July of that year.
As reported earlier, the company’s flight license will remain suspended until August 1. Auryla told BNS on Monday that the regulator would decide on that license separately.
Aurela turned a net profit of 5.811 million litas (EUR 1.68m) for 2011 reversing the year-earlier loss of 8.029 million litas. Sales revenues in 2011 slumped by 3.9 times, to 24.119 million litas.
