Kaliningrad was never too happy about the Baltic Nuclear Power Plant, under construction near the town of Neman, and even less so after local politicians began to suspect that the federal government might include Rosatom's investments in the region into the general funding for the exclave's social infrastructure projects.
It is said that the Baltic NPP has slashed salaries to its employees. The local media have reported that construction firms cannot provide either work or accommodation for the workers they have hired for the project, according to Verslo Žinios.
