Rūta Vainienė: the trade sector must be valued properly - according to its contribution to Lithuania's economy

After having taken the reins of the Association of Lithuanian Trade Enterprises (ALTE), which is an organisation that unites the largest retailers in the country, Rūta Vainienė is now arranging some new tasks. According to Rūta, the trade sector of the country is the leader in terms of the creation of workplaces and is in second place according to the value added; however, it is still undervalued by the global community. The Head of the ALTE is planning to improve the reputation of the sector by transforming the association into a centre of proficiency, joining the European trade organisations, and of course, making efforts to reduce bureaucracy.
