TV and on-line advertising grows in Lithuania

Television and Internet advertising volumes rose in Lithuania in 2012 from 2011, while print and outdoor advertising volumes declined, a survey by TNS LT has shown.

Advertising on television, the largest advertising medium, increased by 4.8 percent, year-on-year, to 26.931 million seconds, or 1,325 commercials. The data includes Info TV, Liuks!, NTV Mir, and TV8, which were added to the list of monitored channels at the start of last year.

Radio advertising volumes declined by 5.5 percent, year-on-year, to 5.174 million seconds. The data includes Power Hit Radio, which was added to the list of monitored stations from the beginning of 2012.

Print advertising volumes dropped by 17.2 percent last year, with advertising space in newspapers down by 23.5 percent, and in magazines, by 0.2 percent.

Internet advertising increased by 17.4 percent last year, while the average daily outdoor static advertising space narrowed by 14.1 percent.  

The most advertised product and service categories included the retail chains, mobile services, fast credits, drugstores, music concerts, vitamins, and cars.
