“It’s difficult to envisage how many Lithuanian companies will be quoted on the Warsaw bourse at the end of this year, since much will depend on situation on global financial markets. How many new Lithuanian companies we would like to see in Warsaw? The answer is more than two, which have already expressed their wish to be here officially, since we believe that a larger choice of investment instruments is useful both for the market and the investors,” he said in an interview to the Verslo Žinios business daily.
Avia Solutions Group, Inter RAO Lietuva and Agrowill Group have a listing on the WSE now. Moreover, AviaAM Leasing and City Service have made public announcements about their plans to debut on the Warsaw bourse.
“Apart from three Lithuanian companies, two Estonians companies are also quoting their shares on the WSE now, and I believe that Latvian companies will follow their suit soon. We see many Central and Eastern European companies eyeing the Polish market. Our representatives visit this region’s countries regularly and meet with various companies interested in possibilities to hold an initial public offering (IPO) on the Warsaw bourse,” Maciejewski said.
Last year, 19 new companies held an IPO and joined the main list of the WSE, he said adding that the total value of those IPOs made up 3.438 billion zlotys (LTL 2.79b, EUR 808.7m). Moreover, SPOs worth a total of 3.89 billion zlotys (LTL 3.15b) were also held on the Warsaw bourse last year.
