EU Commissioner Neelie Kroes worried about media freedom in some EU states

European Commission Vice-President and Commissioner for Digital Agenda Neelie Kroes has expressed concern over media freedom in some EU member states.

"I'm worried about the situation of media freedom and pluralism in some of our member states," she told journalists in Vilnius on Wednesday.

She did not name the countries but said Lithuania is not among them. "No. And keep it like that," she said.

The issue of media freedom was discussed at an informal meeting of ministers for culture and audiovisual affairs in Vilnius.
