10 lives lost in traffic accidents in Lithuania over past week

Ten people were killed on Lithuanian roads over the past week, the Lithuanian Traffic Police Service informs.

According to preliminary data, 90 traffic accidents involving human injuries or fatal casualties were reported between 24 and 30 August.

The fatal casualties include a minor. Among those killed are five drivers, three cyclists and two pedestrians, nine males and a female.

Some 93 individuals including 11 minors were injured.

Over the past week, drunk drivers were involved in 10 traffic accidents, which killed a minor and left nine injured.

Some 184 people, including 11 minors, were killed in traffic accidents in Lithuania by 31 August this year, indicating a rise by three deaths year-on-year.
