Asked whether they support the second LGBT pride rally scheduled to take place in Vilnius in July, 15.2 percent of respondents reply in the positive, 15.8 percent do not give an opinion on the matter and 5 percent say they have not heard about the event.
The LGBT pride march should take place in Vilnius on July 27. The Lithuanian capital's administration has issued a permit for the event on Upės Street, a decision taken to court by the organizers who want to march on the central Gedimino Avenue.
According to the survey published on delfi.lt news portal, the respondents were also asked whether they knew homosexual people in their environment. 11.4 percent said they did know gay people, 12.8 percent said they did not know for sure but had suspicions, and 71.8 said they knew no homosexuals.
Spinter pollster carried out the survey on January 17-28, polling 1,004 residents of Lithuania between the ages of 18 and 75.
