Over 2,000 soldiers from 14 countries will take part in the training event that will last for almost two weeks, Lithuania's Ministry of National Defense says.
"This year's training event will continue cooperation between Lithuania and our strategic partner – the United States of America – and will contribute to improving interaction among forces as well as joint capabilities to conduct various military operations," Lithuania's Chief of Defense Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius said.
"This training event is a great way to strengthen military cooperation with our partners and promote international interaction," Lt. Col. Mark Nelson, U.S. Army Europe exercise branch chief, said.
Held for the third time, the training event will aim at promoting regional stability, strengthening international military cooperation and interaction as well as preparing military units and troops from different countries for potential multinational operation in any location in the world.
This year, the exercises will also involve representatives from Finland, France, the UK, and Poland.
