Labor Party's Viktor Uspaskich appeals against 4-year sentence in fraud case

Lithuanian MP Viktor Uspaskich, founder of the country's ruling Labor Party, has appealed against his 4-year prison sentence in the party's fraud and fraudulent bookkeeping case.

The politician's appeal was received by Vilnius Regional Court on Wednesday, Gintautas Stalnionis, spokesman for the court, told BNS.

Other convicts in the case also plan to appeal. Appeals are excepted by Friday and will be heard by the Court of Appeal of Lithuania.
