Lithuania's penetration rate for fixed broadband subscriptions with speeds of 30 megabits per second (Mbps) or more was the second-highest in the region, at 12 percent, after Iceland's 14 percent. Sweden was third with 9 percent and Estonia had the lowest rate at 3 percent, according to the report published jointly by the national communications regulatory authorities of the Nordic countries and two Baltic countries.
Lithuania and Denmark in 2012 had the highest numbers of SMS messages sent per subscription in a year, at around 1,620 and 1,560 messages, respectively.
Finland had the highest rate of mobile telephony usage for voice communication, at 2,300 minutes per subscription per year, followed by Norway and Iceland with 2,200 minutes each. Lithuania, Estonia and Denmark had the lowest rates, at 1,600-1,700 minutes.
