The terms were approved by a coordination task group for euro adoption, which held a meeting on Monday.
“We have to adopt the main documents before the Lithuanian EU presidency so as to be able to prepare for the adoption of the euro smoothly further on. We will focus on consumer protection and public awareness,” Finance Minister Rimantas Sadzius, the chair of the coordination task group, said in a press release.
According to the ministry, the plan would specify the dual circulation period of the Lithuanian litas and the euro, as well as the period of dual display of prices and the period of free exchange of litas into euros by the commercial banks.
