I invite all people of Lithuania to join the environmental clean-up campaign, be conscious citizens and feel responsibility for the environment we live in, to take care of it and foster it," said Kubilius.

Apart from the PM, his chancellor Deividas Matulionis and team of the prime minister's office will also take part in the campaign tomorrow.

Latvia will also hold its Big Cleanup Day on Saturday. Ahead of this nationwide event, Latvian President Andris Berzins has released a message to the multitude of volunteers, wishing them to feel the joy of hard work, and work with a sincere desire to make Latvia even more beautiful.

At the same time, the president reminds everyone that it is a matter of honor to keep your land, home and property clean and tidy every day.

Berzins points out that on this occasion, the 5th Big Cleanup Day, young and old, big and small, will come together to revive a centuries-old Latvian tradition.
