Lithuanian brewer Volfas Engelman's H1 revenue down 4 percent to EUR 16 mln

Lithuanian brewery Volfas Engelman, which is owned by the Finnish group Olvi, posted 15.987 million euros in sales revenues for the first half of this year, down 3.6 percent from 16.578 million euros in the same period last year.

Volfas Engelman's first-half operating profit slumped down to 221,000 euros, from 639,000 euros a year ago, Olvi said in its report for the six months.

The Kaunas-based company's total first-half sales declined by 11.7 percent year-on-year to 31.953 million liters. Sales of soft drinks, including kvass, rose, while beer and cider sales fell.

Olvi holds 99.57 percent of shares in Volfas Engelman.
