According to the statement, audit institutions from Denmark, Norway, Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Lithuania have signed an agreement on international audits of national parks.
"For the first time, Lithuania will be coordinating the international audit. Although international audits are no news for our institution, its coordination and partnership with other countries will be a great experience for us," Auditor General Giedrė Švedienė said in the statement.
National audits will take place in 2013 and 2014, and based on their results, a joint report will be signed at the EUROSAI congress in the Hague in 2014.
Activities of the country's five national parts will be audited in Lithuania.
