"According to the head of state, the issue has not received proper attention so far as cyber security has been approached too primitively," spokeswoman for the president, Daiva Ulbinaitė, told journalists after a meeting on cyber security at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by the vice-ministers of communications and foreign affairs as well as representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, the Minsitry of the Interior, the Communications Regulatory Authority and the National Audit Office, the Presidential Office said in a statement.
Two week ago, Lithuanian news website delfi.lt came under cyber attacks which lasted until last Saturday.
The police launched a pre-trial investigation into the matter. The website also turned to the Communications Regulatory Authority in order to prevent similar attacks in the future.
