Lithuanian prosecutors raid TV3 offices in document forgery and embezzlement investigation

Panevėžys prosecutors and officers of the Lithuanian Special Investigation Service seized documents at the bureau of TV3, a commercial TV channel. Prosecutor Rimantas Vagrys, who is in charged of organized crime and corruption at Panevėžys Prosecutor's Office confirmed it to BNS on Thursday.

"This is all I can say, I am not denying seizure of documents. I will not comment on what it has to do with," Vagrys said.

"The investigation was opened into document forgery, embezzlement of property, and other criminal deeds," the prosecutor said.

In his words, the investigation is carried out by the Panevėžys branch of the Special Investigation Service.

TV3 also confirmed that procedural actions were performed by Panevėžys prosecutors and SIS officers at its office. In a comment to BNS, TV3 said it was "an instrument of pressure and personal revenge against the television for some broadcasts."
