In a press release, prosecutors said that some documents were taken "from some companies and organizations, including TV3 television" on Thursday in the framework of an investigation of document forgery, embezzlement, and other criminal deeds.

"Panevėžys County Prosecutor's Office (...) flatly rejects the misleading information that has been published about the investigation being related with direct operations of the media company and alleged revenge of prosecutors and officers of the Special Investigation Service," reads the press release.

According to the communiqué, no suspicions have been brought yet.

"The public will be updated on the procedural decisions, as soon as the prosecutor in charge of the investigation decides that publishing of the information will not affect the success of the investigation," the prosecutors said.

After reports about seized documents, TV3 said on Thursday that the actions were instruments of pressure and personal revenge.

"We see the application of the operational and procedural measures as an instrument of pressure and personal revenge against the television for some broadcasts, we have notified top officials of the prosecution and the state about this," TV3 said in a comment to BNS.

Operated by Swedish media concern MTG, TV3 was the second most popular TV channel in Lithuania in February.
