Thirty-one officers of the mobile unit will come to the game between Žalgiris Vilnius and Lech Poznan, in addition to four officers who will constantly accompany the fans to collect and analyse information about the conduct of their fans, the Lithuanian Police Department has said on Tuesday.

The officers coming to Lithuania will be from Poznan and Byalystok.

In addition to Lithuanian police, efforts to ensure public peace will involve officers of the State Border Guard Service and the Public Security Service.

On Thursday, the Lithuanian Football Federation stadium will host a match between Žalgiris and Lech, the first game of the third play-off round of the UEFA Europe League.

Polish football fans are notorious as being among the fiercest in Central Europe, therefore, Žalgiris has revised the ticket distribution principle and will not provide any ticket sales at the venue. Everyone interested in coming to the match are invited to purchase tickets in advance.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Žalgiris official said that 300 seats have been reserved for the Polish fans, however, the Poznan club has refused to distribute the tickets among its fans.
