"Around 14,000 consumers are still without power. Most of them, 6,800 people, are in the district of Utena," Ernestas Naprys of the power distribution grid company Lesto told BNS.

He said that they expected to restore power supply to most consumers on Monday.

Lesto declared a state of emergency after the storm on Saturday left 140,000 households without electricity

Strong winds knocked trees over six power transmission lines in some districts. The power transmission company Litgrid said that electricity transmission in the high-voltage grid had been almost fully restored on Saturday morning.

Mobile phone services were temporarily disrupted in part of the country due to the high winds and cut-off power lines.
