Vilnius Municipality has referred to the Seimas's Committee on Foreign Affairs regarding the honoring of Yeltsin's memory but a specific location has not been selected yet.

Vilnius authorities are set to look into a proposal to name around a dozen of nameless streets.

Earlier this year, Yeltsin was awarded a Grand Cross of the Order of the Cross of Vytis. Russia's first leader was awarded posthumously one of the highest state decorations for his personal contribution to solidifying Lithuania's independence and merits to the development of Lithuanian-Russian inter-state relations.

Yeltsin was Russia's president between 1991 and 1999. He died in 2007.
