Two Latvian citizens killed in car-truck collision in central Lithuania

A Latvian man and a small girl were killed when their Honda Accord crashed into a Scania truck driven by a Polish citizen in central Lithuania on Saturday evening.

According to a press release by the local authorities, the accident occurred on Via Baltica highway at about 5:40 PM when the Honda diverted into the oncoming lane and crashed into the truck.

The driver and a female passenger born in 2006 were killed on the spot, while another female and a boy under one year old were taken to hospital. People were trapped in the automobile after the crash.
