Two people die of frostbites in Lithuania

Two people have died of frostbites in eastern Lithuania, the police and doctors announce on Tuesday.

An unidentified male, aged around 40-50, was found at a gardening area in the city of Utena on Monday. He died on the way to hospital, the Police Department said.

Another elderly man was found dead in Vilnius District on Monday, Vilnius emergency services told BNS.

All in all, five people have already died of frostbites this winter.

Temperatures as low as -25 degrees centigrade are forecast at the start of next week.
