The testimony made by the party's member Antanas Kairaitis who headed a company, which is part of the group owned by the party's leader Viktor Uspaskich, was made public at the hearing, and the court plans to hear testimony of four more witnesses later on Friday.
At the beginning of the hearing, the court rejected the pleas of defense lawyers for more time to study the case.
16 April marks four years of court proceedings in the case, however, judges were unable to question a single witness over the period, as hearings are adjourned every time due to health conditions of defendants, non-participation or replacement of lawyers and other reasons.
According to evidence collected by prosecutors, in 2004-2006 the Labor Party failed to include about 25 million litas (EUR 7.2 mln) of income in its accounting documents and another 23 million litas in spending related with property, commitments and structural changes.
