An argument between Lithuanian diplomatic heavyweights: Is dialogue between NATO and Russia necessary?

An article co-authored and released on international news media by former Foreign Minister Vygaudas Ušackas on the importance of dialogue between NATO and Russia has sparked a storm of discussions in Lithuania. The article’s authors claim that both Russia and the Western alliance must employ measures to ensure that incidents during military exercises wouldn’t transform into a greater conflict. Critics say that this position benefits Moscow.
