According to the daily, the conservatives, who are currently in the ruling coalition, plan to spend the maximum allowed sum – about 2.6 million litas (EUR 754,000) for the campaign before the 14 October general elections. Vytautas Gapšys, one of the oppositional Labor Party's leaders, said the cost estimate of the party's election campaign could also be close to the maximum allowed budget.

Juozas Olekas, head of the election bureau of opposition Social Democrats, said his party's election campaign could cost about 1.5-2 million litas.

Meanwhile, another opposition party – Order and Justice – could spend up to 1.5 million litas, the daily cited one of the party's leaders Valentinas Mazuronis as saying.

The ruling Liberal and Center Union's leader Algis Čaplikas said the party would earmark a “reasonable sum” of over 1 million litas.

Raimondas Imbrasas, the head of the election staff of the third ruling Liberal Movement, the political force was planning to spend about 800,000 litas on preparations for the general elections.
