Under presidential decrees, Economy Minister Rimantas Žylius will be the substitute next week, while Energy Minister Arvydas Sekmokas will perform the prime minister's duties between 28 July and 14 August.

The prime minister would be out of office on 23 July through 14 August and would return to work on 16 August, the next day after the Assumption Day, which is a day-off.

Last Thursday, Kubilius said his vacation would include a week-long cycling tour and a few days of canoeing in Lithuania.

He also intends to interrupt his vacation on 4-5 August to go to London and observe the Olympic Games.

No government meetings are planned during the prime minister's vacation.
