Eurogroup President: Lithuania on the right path towards euro

Lithuania is going on the right path towards its goal to adopt the euro in 2015, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Minister of Finance of the Netherlands and the President of the Eurogroup, has said in an interview to the Verslo Žinios business daily.

“A convergence report will be prepared in the middle of next year. The European Central Bank and the [European] Commission will assess compliance with all criteria and this will be done very thoroughly. I know that Lithuania is very serious about this. Everything is moving in the right direction,” he said.

The official added that the crisis relating to the concerns about the survival or break-up of the euro zone had already ended.
