Prosecutors have charged leader of the Labor Party, MEP Viktor Uspaksich, with organizing unlawful bookkeeping between 2004-2006 in an effort to secure unlawful financing and avoid financial control. The Labor Party's financial documentation for the 2004-2006 period failed to include about LTL 25 million (EUR 7.3 million) in income and about LTL 23 million in spending related with property, commitments, and structural changes. The party also ellegedly failed to pay around LTL 4 million in taxes.
Uspaskich is facing up to four years in prison.
Uspaskich denies all charges.

Hearing of case against Viktor Uspaskich's Labor Party adjourned until September
A Vilnius court adopted a decision on Monday to adjourn the hearing of the Labor Party's case until September. Following questioning of several witnesses, the court decided that the next hearing will take place on 7 September.
